Acupuncture case: "When pressure is applied to the toes, the sole of the right foot hurts" (JR Senrioka Station/Suita City, Osaka Prefecture)

I have had pain in the sole of my right foot for about 10 years. When I walk in heels or flat shoes, I feel a pain that feels like an electric shock running from the sole to the top of my foot. I also feel pain when going down stairs, and the muscles in the sole of my foot go into spasm. I thought it was hallux valgus, so I hadn't visited a medical institution until now. I had been visiting our clinic for a different symptom, but when I learned that acupuncture was also effective for plantar pain, I decided to undergo treatment.

Treatment and progress

The pain was in two places on the bottom of my right foot: the base of my first and second toes and the arch. Palpation of these areas revealed a clear difference in stiffness between the left and right sides. I checked the acupressure points on my calf and found a significant reaction, so I applied acupuncture there to loosen the sole. The previously stiff points loosened and I no longer felt any difference between the left and right sides.
When the patient visited us for the second time, we checked the condition of the sole of her right foot and found that after the treatment, she no longer felt pain when walking in heels or flat shoes. She only felt a slight pain when going down stairs. We added acupressure points on her back to address the remaining pain in her sole.
One month later, the patient reported that he no longer felt the pain in the soles of his feet.

Summary

Palpation revealed that the muscles on the soles of the feet were stiff, and it was determined that the condition was suitable for acupuncture. In this case, the pain was caused by stress on the soles of the feet (toes). To reduce stress on the toes, acupressure points on the calves and back were used to relax the soles of the feet. If the painful points can be accurately identified, acupuncture can instantly relax the soles of the feet by using the corresponding acupressure points.
