I have a sharp pain on the ulnar side of my right wrist after playing tennis.
symptom
A woman in her 60s developed pain on the ulnar side of her right wrist three days ago while playing tennis. The pain is sharp and stabbing, and intensifies with movement. The pain is particularly noticeable with ulnar deviation, and worsens with dorsiflexion. In daily life, even holding objects causes pain, and she has to perform household chores with trepidation. Continuing to play tennis has also become difficult. As she is a beginner at exercise, the strain from unfamiliar movements is considered a contributing factor to the onset of her symptoms. She also experienced neck stiffness in relation to her symptoms.

Treatment and progress
During the initial examination, movement assessment revealed pain on the ulnar side of the wrist during ulnar deviation, with the pain intensifying further with dorsiflexion. Treatment was performed on related acupoints in the back and scapula. After the first treatment, the range of motion of the wrist improved. By the second visit, the patient had recovered to the point where they could move almost freely, and after similar treatment, they were able to move with virtually no difference between the left and right wrists. After a total of two treatments, the symptoms improved significantly, and no recurrence of symptoms or the appearance of new symptoms was observed during the treatment period.

Summary
This case involves a woman in her 60s, a beginner in sports, who developed pain on the ulnar side of her right wrist due to playing tennis. The pain was exacerbated by combined ulnar deviation and dorsiflexion movements, interfering with her daily activities. Treatment of acupoints on the back and scapula resulted in improved range of motion from the first session, and after two sessions, she recovered to a state where there was no difference between her left and right wrists. This case demonstrates the effectiveness of addressing related areas in treating excessive strain on the wrist due to unfamiliar exercise.
