Treatment and progress
During the initial examination, tension around the arm and poor wrist mobility were observed through palpation. When acupuncture was applied to points on the back that were strongly related to arm tension, the arm tension was relieved. When the patient moved her wrist, she felt discomfort on the ulnar side, so acupuncture was applied to points on the shoulder blade, which eliminated the discomfort. After the first treatment, the patient felt "somewhat better." A few days later, when she returned to the clinic, she reported that she no longer felt wrist pain during tennis.

Summary
For a female patient in her teens complaining of right wrist pain and right arm tightness caused by tennis, acupuncture treatment was applied to points on the back and shoulder blade. The first treatment improved arm tension and wrist discomfort, and a few days later, the pain during tennis club activities disappeared. This case demonstrated that effective improvement can be achieved for arm and wrist symptoms by using not only local points but also points on the back and shoulder blade.
