Limited range of motion in the left shoulder that suddenly stopped working.
symptom
A woman in her 60s presented with limited range of motion in her left shoulder. She had felt discomfort in her left shoulder for a week, but the day before her visit, she suddenly became unable to lift her shoulder. The movement of her entire left shoulder was restricted, and when she tried to raise her arm, pain appeared at about 20 degrees, making it impossible to move it any further. This symptom made it impossible for her to perform basic daily activities such as washing her hair, getting dressed, and tying her hair, severely impacting her life. She had not received any diagnosis or treatment at a medical institution, and no other physical discomforts were observed.

Treatment and progress
During the initial examination, it was confirmed that the patient's arm could only be raised to about 20 degrees due to pain. Treatment was performed on acupoints on the outer edge of the scapula, hand, and arm. After the first treatment, the range of motion of the arm improved slightly, and the patient was able to move it a little. At the second visit, the patient was able to raise their arm to about 45 degrees, and it was determined that the initial treatment plan was appropriate, so the same treatment was continued. With each subsequent treatment, the range of motion gradually increased, and eventually the patient was able to raise their arm all the way up. After 5 treatments, the symptoms improved significantly, and no recurrence of symptoms or the appearance of new symptoms was observed during the treatment period.

Summary
Following discomfort that began a week prior, the patient suddenly developed limited range of motion in their left shoulder and received treatment. At the initial consultation, the arm could only be raised about 20 degrees, but this gradually improved through treatment of acupoints on the outer edge of the scapula, hand, and arm. By the second session, the range of motion had expanded to 45 degrees, confirming the effectiveness of the treatment plan. After five sessions, the patient was able to raise their arm all the way up and recover to the point where they could perform daily activities without difficulty. This is a case where excellent results were obtained in a short period of time through early and continuous treatment.
