Headaches and nausea caused by desk work
symptom
I had always experienced shoulder stiffness due to my desk job, but the symptoms worsened around October.
In addition to neck pain, I now experience severe headaches in the back of my head, accompanied by nausea, almost every day.
I went to an orthopedic clinic and received medication, but there was no improvement on days when my symptoms were severe.
There were days when I had to take time off work due to severe headaches and nausea.
The headache was most pronounced in the left occipital region, and there was particularly strong neck extension pain and tension in the second thoracic vertebra.

Treatment and progress
Needles were inserted into the back, where tension was particularly noticeable. Needles were also left in place in the related area of the hand.
Because heat was observed in the back of the head, acupuncture needles were placed in the buttocks and lower legs.
Some differences were observed in the range of motion of neck extension.
The treatment was performed once a week.
Second treatment: Nausea disappeared three days after the first treatment. Headache symptoms also almost completely disappeared.
Similarly, after about four treatment sessions, I still experience some shoulder stiffness, but no headaches, so I am continuing with the treatments as maintenance.

Summary
We believe that the strain on the back and hands due to desk work led to tension in the related neck and shoulder area.
Based on the above results, it can be inferred that the headache was caused by heat buildup in the head that could not dissipate.
