The throbbing pain in both shoulders from loading and unloading luggage on the bus.
symptom
The driver of a large tour bus injured his shoulder while loading and unloading large suitcases inside the bus. Initially, he felt pain in his right shoulder, but when he switched to using his left hand for the task, symptoms appeared in his left shoulder as well. The pain in his right shoulder was a sharp, throbbing pain that radiated backward when he lifted his shoulder, and in his left shoulder, a sharp, throbbing pain that radiated forward when he put weight on it, to the point that it interfered with his ability to steer the bus. Three days had passed since the onset of symptoms, but he had not sought medical attention.

Treatment and progress
At the initial consultation, the patient presented with posterior pain in the right shoulder during elevation and anterior pain in the left shoulder during weight-bearing. Acupuncture was first performed on points in the neck, which reduced symptoms on both sides. Further treatment of points in the back eliminated the right shoulder symptoms. For the remaining tension in the anterior aspect of the left shoulder, additional treatment of points in the back and neck completely eliminated the pain. After the treatment, shoulder movement improved, and the patient appeared satisfied.

Summary
This case involves a bus driver who developed bilateral shoulder pain during work, and acupuncture treatment combining points on the neck and back showed remarkable efficacy. Although the pain was triggered by the strain of occupational movements, the symptoms improved after the first treatment, suggesting that early intervention was effective. As similar work will continue in the future, the need for a preventative approach is also suggested.
