Pain in the left lower back when arching the back, and numbness in the thigh.
symptom
For the past three weeks, I've experienced worsening lower back pain and numbness extending from my left lower back to my left thigh. The numbness is particularly severe when standing or when riding on a moving train, making it difficult to stand, while I feel almost no pain when sitting. The pain also intensifies with movements that arch my back or straighten my spine. While it doesn't interfere with my work or daily life, the pain and numbness are particularly bothersome when traveling by train or playing golf. I was diagnosed with suspected spinal stenosis at a hospital, but I haven't undergone any rehabilitation or treatment.

Treatment and progress
During the initial examination, palpation revealed pain and limited movement during lumbar extension. Furthermore, significant numbness and pain were observed when straightening the back. Therefore, acupuncture was performed on points in the lower back and legs to alleviate numbness and improve movement. After the first treatment, pain and numbness when straightening the back decreased, and movement improved, but the symptoms did not completely disappear. Subsequent treatments focused on the lower back to further reduce pain, numbness, and movement. With each subsequent treatment, the pain and numbness gradually decreased, and the symptoms improved.
Acupressure points used
Summary
The patient presented with lower back pain and thigh numbness, which worsened during standing and movement, suggesting the possibility of spinal stenosis. In this case, treatment of acupressure points in the lower back and legs proved effective, and improvement in lower back movement, in particular, is thought to have contributed to the reduction of symptoms. With repeated treatments, the symptoms gradually improved, and the discomfort in daily life decreased. Regular care is desirable to prevent recurrence of symptoms.
