Treatment and progress
During the initial consultation, acupuncture was performed on pressure points in the feet and back, and approaches were also made to the shoulders and jaw. After the first treatment, the patient reported that there was some twitching in the face and that the symptoms had slightly lessened. From the second session onward, the treatment continued with the same basic approach, but when pain in the temples and cheeks became a concern, approaches were added to those areas. The symptoms changed with each subsequent treatment, and although the pain subsided after the third session, a tingling sensation developed in the lower lip around the fifth session. However, the symptoms improved dramatically thereafter, and by the tenth session, the patient was able to blink and perform actions involving water without any problems. During the treatment period, there were occasional relapses of discomfort and pain in the face, but it was determined that the facial changes were progressing, and the treatment continued without changing the approach, resulting in improvement.
