Treatment and progress
During the initial examination, palpation revealed hardness in the abdomen, and acupuncture was performed on points in the legs and arms.
After the first treatment, the patient felt that the stiffness in their abdomen had eased, and their symptoms improved with each subsequent treatment.
After 7 treatment sessions, the abdominal pain I experienced almost daily decreased to once a week, and the number of times I had to go to the toilet due to diarrhea also decreased.
However, after the eighth treatment, abdominal pain and vomiting recurred, so the treatment focused on loosening the stiffness around the stomach and navel.
Ultimately, after 12 treatment sessions, the symptoms improved, and the quality of daily life increased.

Summary
In this case, treatment to relieve abdominal stiffness was effective.
While the symptoms improved with repeated treatments, it was important to review the treatment plan when the symptoms relapsed, and to particularly focus on relieving tension around the abdomen.
This experience suggests the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment for irritable bowel syndrome, and further approaches are needed to prevent symptom recurrence.
