Suffering from insomnia due to a dry cough caused by fatigue.
symptom
Amidst accumulating fatigue due to a change in workplace, the individual began experiencing a dry cough at night that disrupted their sleep. The cough occurred frequently, particularly from night through to the early morning, and the resulting lack of adequate sleep intensified daytime fatigue. There were no cold-like symptoms, such as fever, and the individual had not sought medical attention. They were caught in a vicious cycle where severe daytime fatigue and insomnia caused by the nocturnal cough exacerbated their exhaustion.

Treatment and progress
Initial examination findings revealed marked muscle tension in the interscapular region, restricted range of motion in the shoulder joint, and tension in the Achilles tendon area. Based on these findings, acupuncture treatment was administered, focusing on acupoints in the forearms and lower legs. Following the first session, the frequency and severity of the cough were significantly reduced, making it easier to sleep. Treatment was continued at intervals of three to five days, and the cough resolved after three sessions; nighttime sleep also improved.

Summary
In this case, a vicious cycle had developed wherein accumulated fatigue triggered nocturnal coughing, and the resulting insomnia led to further fatigue. Acupuncture treatment applied to the forearms and lower legs resulted in an improvement in both coughing symptoms and sleep quality. Symptomatic improvement was observed as early as the first session, and the symptoms resolved completely after three treatments, suggesting the efficacy of acupuncture for this condition.
