Pain in the buttocks and thighs preventing sleep
symptom
I hurt my lower back while doing yard work about three weeks ago, and the pain has persisted ever since. I experience pain extending from my lower back and left buttock down to my thigh when standing, lying down, or walking briskly. The pain makes it difficult for me to fall asleep.

Treatment and progress
Session 1
Upon assessment of movement, pain was noted when lying on the back and when lifting the lower back to roll over. Significant tension was observed around the sacroiliac joint and in the back. Treatment was applied to acupuncture points on the arms and lower legs, resulting in a reduction of stiffness.
Sessions 2–4
Lower back pain and pain while standing had not recurred since the previous session. Pain in the left buttock and thigh area—experienced when sleeping or moving about—improved for two to three days following treatment but would return to previous levels thereafter. During the fourth session, treatment was expanded to include acupuncture points on the lower back and back.
Sessions 5–6
Pain extending from the lower back and buttocks to the left thigh had eased significantly since the previous session. Discomfort when lying on the back or rolling over had also improved, allowing for better sleep. The same treatment protocol was followed.
Session 7
Pain when lying on the back had resolved, and walking briskly was no longer an issue. Although slight pain was occasionally felt when rolling over, it no longer interfered with falling asleep or other daily activities. Since then, the patient has continued to visit regularly for fatigue recovery and pain prevention.

Summary
Due to the client's work schedule, treatments were conducted on a weekly basis. When lying face-up, the condition of the entire back—not just the lower back—comes into play. By focusing the treatment on the area that appeared to be the primary source of the issue, we saw a dramatic improvement in their condition.
