Knee pain that makes it impossible to sit in the seiza position
symptom
I had been experiencing knee pain for several weeks, but yesterday it worsened after I spent several hours crouching at work, so I contacted them.
Upon returning home, the patient noticed heat and swelling around their knee and spent the day applying ice, but contacted us because they could no longer sit in the seiza position, which they had previously been able to do.
She also consulted me about her lower back pain.

Treatment and progress
Although I was able to flex and extend my knee joint, sitting in a kneeling position caused pain, so I considered ways to improve this movement.
When she sat in the seiza position, she complained of pain on the inside and outside of her knee joints.
Needles were inserted into acupoints on the buttocks related to knee joint movement and acupoints on the little finger related to inflammatory symptoms. Next, needles were inserted into acupoints on the back of the knee related to the affected area.
After that, she was able to sit in the seiza position, but she said that her entire knee felt stiff, so we adjusted the movement of her hip joint as a finishing touch, and the symptoms disappeared.
Acupressure points used
Summary
We implemented this to improve the movement involved in sitting in the seiza position.
In this case, we focused on the tension behind the knee based on the circumstances of the incident.
