Shoulder injured from snowboarding
symptom
A month ago, I fell while snowboarding and injured my left arm when I landed on it. Initially, I could barely move my arm to the side, but now I can lift it, although it still hurts. A few weeks ago, I went to a local osteopathic clinic for treatment, but I didn't feel any improvement. In my daily life, I experience pain and difficulty when putting on or taking off clothes or reaching for things in high places.

Treatment and progress
There was significant tension in the anterior aspect of the shoulder joint. Similar findings were observed in the neck, so these were considered together.
Acupuncture on related points on the back improved the range of motion from around 150 degrees to around 170 degrees. Next, tension in the lower back was relieved, and the restriction in range of motion disappeared. When external rotation was observed, considering the need to put on and take off clothes, a restriction was found, so acupuncture on the back was used to address this.
Before the treatment, it seemed difficult for the client to put on and take off their long coat, but after the treatment, they were able to move smoothly as if nothing had happened, so the treatment was completed.

Summary
This case demonstrates the connection between the affected area and the problem. By adjusting the movement of the shoulder, including the movement of the neck, the issue was quickly resolved.
The injury was to the shoulder joint, but we focused on the tension remaining in the body due to compensatory movements and performed treatment accordingly.
