The thumb joint cannot bend at all
symptom
A month ago, the joint of my thumb (near the nail) became completely immobile and I could no longer grip anything. There was no swelling or pain, but it was interfering with my daily life.
I had an X-ray taken at an orthopedic clinic and it was confirmed that there were no abnormalities such as fractures. I was prescribed a patch and painkillers, but I didn't use them because I didn't feel any pain. I searched the internet for other options.

Treatment and progress
One week before the symptoms of trigger finger appeared, I had a severe neck stiffness that caused discomfort in my neck for a long period of time (1 weeks).
After checking the connection to the hands and neck, I performed acupuncture on acupressure points on the back that are related to the movement of bending the fingers.
First visit
When I checked the condition of my thumb after the needle was inserted, it was trembling at first, but it started to bend. It had changed to the point where I could easily put my thumb inside the other four fingers and hold it.
Although there was still a slight feeling of tightness, there had been a significant change, so the initial consultation ended here.
Two days later, the patient contacted us and said, "My fingers have become much smoother since the treatment. There is still a little stiffness left."
Second consultation (one week after the first consultation)
He was able to make a fist with his thumb inside almost normally, and his movements were smoother. He said he still had a stiff pain and a slight stiffness, so we performed acupuncture on the relevant acupoints again. After having him bend and stretch the area several times in the same way, the pain disappeared. The stiffness also decreased.
Although there was still a little bit left, it was no longer a problem for daily life, so I decided to stop.

Summary
She had a small child and had to carry him often, which put a lot of strain on her neck, shoulder blades, and back, which is thought to have caused her to develop a stiff neck and trigger finger, which made it impossible for her to move her neck at all.
By treating areas that were thought to be burdensome due to movements in daily life rather than the areas where symptoms were occurring, improvements were achieved with fewer needles and fewer sessions.
