Shoulder gets caught when putting on or taking off
symptom
A month ago, I injured my right shoulder when I twisted it while trying to pick up a heavy object from a bunk bed. Since then, I've experienced a sharp, stabbing pain, and it's made many of my daily activities and work (caregiving-related) more difficult. In my daily life, I feel a catching sensation when putting on or taking off clothes, and at work, I feel pain when lifting and lowering wheelchairs during my caregiver transport duties. The pain has continued to worsen whenever I twist my shoulder or apply force.
I think that the strain on my left rotator cuff, which I suffered last June, might have been due to constantly relying on my right side to compensate.

Treatment and progress
Upon examining the movement of the shoulder joint, there were no problems with flexion and abduction, but symptoms were triggered when the patient assumed an abducted and extended position, so we considered improving this movement. Based on its connection to movement, acupuncture was performed on acupoints on the back, and the symptoms disappeared.
The patient reported, "It's much better than last time, but it still hurts a little at times." Upon checking the range of motion, it was found that there was a limitation in internal rotation. In addition to the previous treatment, acupuncture was applied to related points on the back, which allowed the patient to move their shoulders without any difference between the left and right sides.
Acupressure points used
Summary
This case involved tension in the back that was restricting shoulder movement. Because basic movements such as elevation and abduction were normal, the patient was able to quickly regain full range of motion.
