Bending forward causes severe pain in the lower back.
symptom
For the past one or two months, I've been experiencing lower back pain when I wake up in the morning. The pain is particularly severe when I wash my face in the bathroom. Five days before coming to the clinic, I experienced excruciating pain in my lower back when I bent forward, making it impossible to move. In the afternoon, I received a painkiller injection at an orthopedic clinic. After resting at home for three days, the pain subsided, so I resumed work while wearing a back brace.
After that, when I sit on the sofa, the pain makes it impossible to stand up. I can move around a bit, but the pain doesn't go away. The pain is especially bad when I bend forward.

Treatment and progress
The patient's lower back pain worsened when sitting on the sofa, suggesting it was caused by pressure on the back of the thigh. Acupuncture on the back of the thigh reduced the pain throughout the lower back. Since some pain remained in the upper buttocks, acupuncture on the back relieved it. The patient remained in good condition, and by the second visit, only morning pain was present. Adding acupuncture to the upper shoulder, as per the previous treatment plan, eliminated the remaining lower back pain.

Summary
This was a typical case where tension (stiffness) in the thigh muscles was causing lower back pain. This could be inferred from the fact that the condition worsened when sitting on a sofa. In the actual treatment, I palpated to confirm this inference. Since the theory (mechanism of lower back pain) and the actual condition matched, I performed the treatment according to the basics. This was a case that improved quickly, but overlooking the cause can sometimes delay the opportunity for improvement.
