Since November 2019, I have been suffering from stomach discomfort. I am asymptomatic during the day, but every morning around 4:00 a.m., I wake up with pain in the area around my solar plexus. The pain lasts for about two hours. I underwent examinations including an endoscopy at an internal medicine clinic, but no particular abnormalities were found, and I was diagnosed with "functional dyspepsia." Other symptoms: arrhythmia. Hospital tests showed no abnormalities.

Treatment and progress
(First to third sessions) Acupuncture was performed on the hands, feet, and back with the aim of relieving strain in the solar plexus, but there was no change in symptoms after the third treatment. (Fourth to sixth sessions) After the fourth session, the pain in the solar plexus, which had lasted for two hours in the morning, began to subside in about an hour. After the fifth and sixth sessions, previously, when the pain occurred in the morning, it was unbearable, and every day the patient would get up and endure it for about two hours until the pain naturally subsided. However, now the patient was able to get through the pain by resting in bed. (Seventh to tenth sessions) After the seventh treatment, a change was observed in the time when symptoms appeared. The pain in the solar plexus, which had always occurred at 4:00 AM, began to occur more frequently around 6:00 AM. Perhaps because the patient was able to get more sleep, they became less tired during the day. By the time the eighth treatment was completed, the pain, which had initially lasted for two hours starting at 4:00 AM, now occurred around 6:00 AM and subsided in 10 to 30 minutes. After the 10th treatment, the pain in the solar plexus, which had been felt daily, was reduced to about two days a week. (11th-14th treatments) From the 12th treatment onward, there were no days when the symptoms were felt. Treatment was continued up to the 14th session as part of the observation period, but since no recurrence of symptoms was observed, the treatment was terminated.

Summary
Although no significant change in the manifestation of symptoms was observed after the first three treatments, it was anticipated that long-term treatment would be necessary due to the chronic nature of the condition, which had persisted for over a year since its onset. This case involved patiently continuing treatment while carefully checking the details of the procedure, and the symptoms subsided after approximately three months.
