My outer ankle hurts when I twist my ankle inward and when I squat down.
symptom
A month ago, I slipped and fell, injuring my knee. At the time, I only felt pain in my knee, but the next day, my ankle swelled up, and the swelling and pain continued for about 10 days. The swelling in my ankle has since subsided, but the pain persists. I'm also concerned about tightness on the side of my lower leg. The pain is particularly severe when I twist my ankle inward and when I squat.

Treatment and progress
I carefully examined the location of the pain. The patient reported pain around the outer ankle bone, so I applied acupuncture to the stiffness at the base of the fibula, which is closely related to that area, to loosen it. This reduced the pain when twisting the ankle. Next, I applied acupuncture to different areas of stiffness in the buttocks and at the base of the fibula. The pain when twisting and when squatting disappeared. Finally, I applied acupuncture to the side of the lower leg to finish the treatment.

Summary
The outer ankle bone is closely related to the fibula. I believed that the impact on the fibula when kneeling was also affecting the outer ankle bone. By identifying the source of the pain at an early stage, I was able to lead to the disappearance of the symptoms.
