Pain under the outer ankle when walking

Pain under the outer ankle when walking

symptom

Acupuncture case: "Pain under the outer ankle when walking" (Hankyu Takatsuki Station/Takatsuki City, Ibaraki City, Hirakata City, Kyoto, Shiga)

Two months ago, I sprained my right ankle while playing volleyball.
I've had this happen a few times before, so I applied ice that day.
Starting the next day, I've been going to a chiropractic clinic near my home twice a week for treatment.
It has improved to some extent, but it still flares up below the outer ankle when I walk.
The pain just won't go away. I went to an orthopedic surgeon a week ago, but they said it wasn't the bone.
I was told there was no problem, so I'm wondering online if acupuncture treatment could help.
I looked it up and came to the clinic.

Treatment and progress

<First consultation date>
There is no pain when you start walking, but after walking a few steps, pain occurs below the outer ankle bone.
Pain will develop. Once the pain starts, it will continue until you rest.
I noticed that the pain worsened, especially when I put weight on my right foot.

Inserting one acupuncture needle into a point on the knee related to a sprain below the outer ankle
The pain was halved even when walking, in order to improve the body's balance.
When acupuncture needles are inserted into pressure points on the top of the foot, walking becomes less painful and only causes discomfort.
The procedure was completed because it was satisfactory.

<Second visit>
Because the patient had traveled a long distance to get to the hospital, they were scheduled to return for a follow-up appointment in a week.
During that time, it was just a slight discomfort for five days, and then it gradually turned into pain.
It has changed, but compared to the initial pain level, it has decreased from 10 to 2.

The same treatment as last time, plus treatment on the buttocks because I was concerned about tightness in my calves.
I added one more acupuncture needle.
I was able to walk without pain and even jumped in place, but I was worried.
However, there was no pain, so the treatment was terminated.

A week later, I was pain-free since the procedure and was able to play volleyball again, which I had been taking a break from.
I received word that they had started treatment little by little, so I concluded the treatment.

Summary

If the pain from an ankle sprain doesn't go away, the cause may not be in the painful area.
It appears that this was not the location where the treatment was being performed.
When you get injured, there is excessive tension in another part of the body, so focus on that.
This led to improvement.
